Christie Duo projectors light up 'Titanic' premiere - Christie supplied its Christie Duo dual-projector technology for the world premiere of Titanic in 3D at the Royal Albert Hall in London last week. Celebrating our 100th birthday - FURTHER to the letter from D F Courtney concerning our little cinema here in Clevedon (Opinions, 31.03.12), I am delighted that D F finds the Curzon a delight, and will always be welcomed with open arms (as is everyone who walks through the doors!). There is, however, one thing I would like to correct, and a few things I would like to add which adds to the appeal of the cinema in my opinion.

Italian Cinema Attendance Still Struggling - Cinema attendance in Italy slowed again in March, according to information released Thursday by cinema monitoring company Cinetel, the sixth consecutive month of year-on-year declines, though attendance did strengthen over the course of the month, sparked by strong box office performances from Italian comedy Posti in Piedi in Paradiso (Standing Room in Heaven) and from the Italian premiere of French comedic drama The Untouchables.

Carmike Cinemas Announces Public Offering of Common Stock - Carmike Cinemas, Inc. /quotes/zigman/87233/quotes/nls/ckec CKEC -8.40% today announced it has commenced an underwritten public offering of 4,000,000 shares of its common stock. In addition, Carmike expects to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 600,000 shares of common stock, on the same terms and conditions, to cover over-allotments, if any.
